What is something that you look forward to at a certain time of year? Mine is baseball season. Baseball in general just makes me happy. The beginning of baseball season means spring weather, the approaching end of school, summer days by the pool listening to a game, trips to Bush Stadium to cheer on the Cardinals, and all of the wonderful things that accompany summer.
Growing up in St. Louis area, it was natural for me to become a Cardinals fan. However, I think if I wasn't from there, I would still be a fan because of the natural talent of the team, the leadership, their history, and what it means to be part of "Cardinal Nation". This year, they made it to the Playoffs by one game, and came out of the first game of the series 10-9, after being down 6-1 in the fifth. They are truly a team who fights for what they want, and are inspiring in their determination, which in turn, inspires me. What inspires you? I love the atmosphere of a Cardinal game. Cardinal fans are the best fans in baseball, and experiencing a game will convince you why. The fans are supportive of all the players, we never diss the other teams, or trash our field. We respect our history and the legacy that already lives in Cardinal Nation. Sitting in the stands, munching on fresh nachos, spitting out sunflower seeds, or cracking peanuts, while surrounded by people who love and support the same team that you do, gives you a feeling that is almost indescribable. It really is like coming home. |
